The union representing Metrolink‘s engineers filed a federal lawsuit to stop the video surveillance cameras installed in the agency’s locomotives, calling them an “invasion of privacy.” The southern California commuter rail agency introduced the cameras to ensure that engineers complied with bans on cellphones, texting, and unauthorized passengers in the cab. “Metrolink is disappointed that the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen has taken this action instead of supporting our efforts to advance the safety of passenger train service,” said spokeswoman Angela M.
