A spokesman for Americaneagle.com claims that Chicago (IL) commuter rail operator Metra paid too much for its redesigned website. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Metra contracted with Acquity Group Inc., which initially bid $2.2 million on a three-year contract to redesign and run the website. The cost increased to $3.9 million when Metra added credit-card processing to the site. Americaneagle.com officials bid $1.2 million for the site redesign and said that card-processing would add only $50,000. Metra dismissed the complaint as “sour grapes” and said that the losing firm did not file a formal protest. Link to full story in Chicago Sun-Times.
