Metro transit police test new vehicles

The Washington (DC) Metro Transit Police Department introduced T3 vehicles for patrolling parking lots and garages. The three-wheel electric vehicles can travel up to 25 miles per hour, and the rechargeable batteries last for 4-6 hours. “We think the new T3s will help our officers cover more ground in a shorter period of time, respond to calls quicker and increase visibility in our parking facilities where crimes take place,” said police chief Michael Taborn.
