New York City is the latest municipal government to develop an iPhone application that lets citizens file complaints directly to the 311 system. The new app uses the phone’s GPS chip to pinpoint the location of the problem — such as a pothole or graffiti — and it enables users to attach photos to their complaint. The City of Pittsburgh launched a similar iPhone link to 311 in August. Link to full story in The New York Times.
