The Edmonton (AB) Transit System‘s new control center incorporates a real-time mapping display that enables staff to monitor operations, dispatch help, clear incidents, and communicate with police. “If a bus is delayed for any reason for over 15 minutes the information is relayed to our control center,” said ETS director of safety and security Ron Gabruck. “The city can take that info and send it to the 311 group and when people call to ask about delays they can tap into their information and be told why.” Link to full story in Metro Edmonton.
