Las Vegas high-speed rail competition heats up

The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded $45 million to study a magnetic levitation rail line between Las Vegas (NV) and Anaheim (CA). The maglev option is competing for support with the DesertXpress, a high-speed rail proposal using conventional technology to serve the corridor between Las Vegas and Victorville (CA).
