NASA teams up with SkyTran

NASA has signed an agreement with Unimodal to collaborate on an advanced transportation vehicle system.  Unimodal will contribute its SkyTran vehicle, and NASA will provide its Plan Execution Interchange Language and Universal Executive robot control software. SkyTran is a personal rapid transit system that uses magnetic levitation technology on elevated guideways. Network World likens the project to the “Jetson’s flying car” and says that the partnership will provide NASA with feedback on its ground-based propulsion systems.
