An auditor’s report says that King County Metro in Seattle (WA) could save millions by running its buses more efficiently. Among the recommended improvements are better use of scheduling software to consolidate routes and eliminate deadheading (saving $3.7 million) and replacing electric trolley buses with diesel-electric hybrids (saving $8.6 million by removing overhead wires).
