San Jose uses web to guide city’s future

by Susan on August 17, 2009

The City of San Jose (CA) launched a wiki planning effort to obtain community input for its 2040 general plan. From August 1 through October 31, residents are invited to log into wikiplanning.org to provide feedback and guidance on the city’s future. “Using the wiki platform to increase the number and diversity of residents participating in local government decisions around the general plan furthers our city’s commitment to civic engagement, open and honest government, and reaching decisions in full view of the public,” said Mayor Chuck Reed.
