Indian Railways is introducing contactless smart cards, which will be distributed through automatic ticket vending machines in five cities — New Delhi, Secunderabad, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Pune. Project launch is scheduled for September in New Delhi and Secunderabad. NXP Semiconductors will provide the smart cards.
