Company pitches pods to Muni

Proponents of SkyTran have met with the San Francisco (CA) Municipal Transportation Agency to pitch their personal rapid transit system.  According to Unimodal, the California company developing the project, SkyTran would transport people via cables operating 8-15 feet above the roadway. The pods, each carrying two people, could operate one-half second apart.  Unimodal is currently developing a prototype for SkyTran and continues to brief transportation officials on its PRT technology.
