As more and more states turn to social networking to communicate with their citizens, the Ohio Department of Transportation is sticking with traditional approaches. ODOT spokesman Scott Varner said that the agency is considering using new media, but wants to make sure that they do it right. One concern is the time commitment. “I am not sure that taxpayers of Ohio want to see the Ohio Department of Twittering,” Varner said. “They want to know that we use those networking sites for the right reasons and state employees on taxpayer time are not simply twittering.” Link to full story in The Plain Dealer.
