Feds post proposed rules on positive train controls

This week the Federal Railroad Administration issued proposed rules designed to prevent train collisions with use of positive train control systems. “These proposed rules give railroads the framework to use this life-saving technology,” said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. “We believe this is an important step toward making freight, intercity and commuter rail lines safer for the benefit of communities across the country.” Link to full FRA press release.
