DART tests new rider alert tool

July 9, 2009

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (TX) is testing Where’s My Bus?® to provide customers with real-time information about bus location. The application, available at DART’s mobile site, shows the progress of the bus on a Google map.  Initially showing the scheduled arrival time, the display shifts to estimated time when the bus is within 15 minute of the stop.  Once the bus is five minutes away, the page indicates that the bus is “arriving soon.”  Where’s My Bus?® uses GPS data and an algorithm created by DART staff.  Link to full DART press release.
