A new electronic farecard will be introduced in conjunction with the Dubai Metro. Starting in September, the Roads and Transport Authority will issue Nol cards, which will be good for transit fares and parking fees. “In the long run the Nol card will be used on all the integrated mass transit modes – buses, marine transport, Metro and tram,” said RTA Chairman and Executive Director Mattar Al Tayer. “The cards are designed to prevent tampering and will be supplied by multiple outlets. In the future they will be used for loyalty points programs, and to provide discounts for students, children and people with special needs.” Link to full story in Emirates Business 24/7.
