A transit voice planner? ‘Back up.’ Back way up.

New York City Transit recently introduced Trip Planner Voice, which allowed customers to get automated travel itineraries by telephone.  New York Times reporter Jennifer 8. Lee decided to test the service.  Her experience, chronicled in the City Room blog, found some room for improvement in the voice-recognition technology.   “It’s a work in progress, but it’s accomplishing what we set out to do,” said New York City Transit spokesman Paul J. Fleuranges. “The more things we tweak, the better we become.” Link to full story in The New York Times.
