GE to build cleaner locomotives

General Electric has developed a new line of locomotives that save fuel and reduce emissions. The diesel-electric locomotives use alternating-current technology to reduce fuel requirements by 17% over traditional locomotives, which are powered by direct current.  GE will build the locomotives at two plants in Pennsylvania but does not expect to generate any new jobs. Link to full story in Forbes.
