FastFleet brings car-sharing to public sector agencies

by Susan on May 6, 2009

Zipcar introduces FastFleet, a system that allows government organizations to manage their vehicle fleets more efficiently. The system uses the same technology as  Zipcar’s consumer car-sharing service with one key exception — the client agency supplies  the vehicles.  Employees reserve cars via web, phone, or mobile device; they unlock the vehicle with the swipe of an access card. After a pilot test, the District of Columbia estimates saving $300,000 over four months. Link to full press release.
