King County Metro Transit debuts new tools to keep riders in the loop

by Susan on May 4, 2009

King County Metro Transit (WA) is launching new electronic tools to keep its riders informed about service disruptions.  In addition to a redesigned web page, the Seattle-area agency is introducing email alerts and a pilot project called  “Eye on Your Metro Commute” to notify commuters about potential delays in the morning and afternoon commutes.  Updates will be posted on Metro’s website and available via RSS feed.  “These improvements and new services are part of Metro’s ongoing commitment to improve communication with customers on many fronts,” Metro General Manager Kevin Desmond said. “Products and services, such as Trip Planner, Metro’s customer information phone line and the region’s new ORCA fare card are all intended to make riding Metro as easy and convenient as possible.”  Link to full story in Auburn-Reporter.

If you think service is bad now what untill they try to cut more routes. The County apparently want to cut service.

Metro could offer retirement packages to workers who are close to retirement. I hear alot of Metro workers are close to retiement now.

I also am wondering why King County is not asking for Government assistance. They are helping GM why not us
