Beware of black-market Opus cards

Police in Montreal broke up a scam involving the Société de transport de Montréal‘s Opus cards.  The ring would use stolen or cloned credit cards to load the Opus cards and then sell them on the Internet.  People buying the black-market cards could find them useless.   “When a financial institution notifies us that an Opus card has been charged using stolen or cloned credit cards, we immediately invalidate the Opus,” said STM spokeswoman Isabelle Tremblay.
