The Transit Authority of River City in Louisville (KY) will use $5.37 million in federal stimulus funds to purchase 10 hybrid buses. This continues a trend for the agency, which already has nine electric-diesel hybrids in its fleet. The new vehicles have changed public perceptions of the agency. “We got these hybrids and overnight we went from being part of the problem to part of the solution,” said executive director Barry Barker. “I have never seen quite a change in public attitude.” Link to full story in Government Technology.
