MBTA tests “Next Train” technology

March 11, 2009

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority announced “Next Train” technology to provide real-time arrival information for its commuter rail system. “With this new investment the guessing game on when the next train will arrive is over,” said Transportation Secretary James A. Aloisi, Jr. “Our goal is to continue improving the customer experience to attract and retain riders.”  Testing is underway, with full roll-out expected at the end of the summer.  Link to MBTA press release.
