London’s Heathrow Airport is testing driverless pods to transport passengers between their cars and Terminal 5 within a few weeks. The personal rapid transit system will comprise 18 battery-powered pods, each of which can carry four adults, two children, and their luggage. According to airport officials, passenger waiting time will not exceed one minute, and the 2.4 mile trip between parking lot and terminal will take three minutes. Link to full story in The Telegraph.
